DELUSIONAL FEARS
The only reason this so-called law progressed so far is because it follows the same flawed reasoning used in abortion rights for minors. Regardless of one’s stance on that topic, we should agree that a child lacks the maturity (frontal cortex) and legal capacity to make such a profound decision without parental consent.
But we don’t—because we’ve been conditioned by fear. We’ve accepted the narrative that a child might face harm if a parent discovered their pregnancy. And so, we surrender one of life’s most sacred responsibilities—guiding and protecting our own children—to strangers who believe they know what’s best.
These fear-driven laws operate much like a drug addiction. Once society allows one harmful or unethical statute into its system, each new “dose” dulls our collective judgment and weakens our moral compass—until we can no longer tell what’s right, only what keeps us numb and ultimately safe from our own delusional fears.
